WHAT IS SARB?
The School Attendance Review Board is a community-school
volunteer board which meets with students and their families
to assist in solving student attendance and behavioral problems. WHAT IS THE SARB PROCESS? The School Attendance Review Board meets once a month at Alturas City Hall to examine individual student cases. After each school district refers a student to the SARB, they are evaluated by a panel of thirteen community members who are drawn from various organizations within our county. These organizations are listed as follows:
After the evaluation process has taken place, this board then votes on a list of directives the student is obligated to adhere to. Subsequent monthly meetings are then held to evaluate and track student attendance and educational progress until the board sees evident improvement. HOW CAN I FIND OUT MORE ABOUT SARB?
